Voyager Technologies is a space, defense, and national security technology company building mission-critical solutions for government and commercial customers. The Chemical Engineer will support the establishment of a new chemical manufacturing facility in Penrose, CO (with a planned shift to Pueblo, CO within the next year), reporting to the Chief Engineer as part of the Chemicals and Explosives Team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Translating laboratory data into process requirements and equipment specifications for chemical manufacturing
- Procuring existing industrial equipment that meets cost, schedule, and performance requirements
- Developing and building custom first-principles solutions alongside the technician team when off-the-shelf equipment is insufficient
- Testing, refining, and commissioning equipment to bring systems into operation
- Contributing to safe development and operation of chemical processing equipment
- Identifying, communicating, and tracking engineering risks and mitigation strategies
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related discipline (or 4+ years of equivalent professional experience). Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience taking processes through design, testing, iteration, and scale-up phases; executing projects on schedule and within budget to required quality standards; and possess working knowledge of mass and energy balances, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring on-site presence and collaboration with manufacturing and technical teams.
