Pennylane is a high-growth French fintech (€400M raised, backed by Sequoia) transforming accounting and financial management for SMEs and accounting firms across Europe. With 1,000+ employees and 900K+ users, the company is expanding rapidly with a genuinely flexible remote culture.
You will join the Partner Solutions Specialists team—composed entirely of former accountants—as a Functional Project Manager (PSS Front). This role bridges accounting expertise, project management, and client relationships, working directly with accounting firms during their migration to Pennylane's platform.
You will partner with a PSS Back (technical architect) who handles integration and technical aspects. You are the client-facing expert: framing requirements, building confidence, and driving projects forward.
Key responsibilities:
• Conduct functional audits and needs analysis: plan and facilitate migration kickoffs, briefings, workshops, and retrospectives with accounting firms; analyze business requirements from field feedback; document user stories and requirements for internal teams; deliver webinars on functional and cross-functional topics.
• Manage migration projects: ensure clear, documented migration pathways for all stakeholders; adapt approaches while maintaining process rigor; communicate alignment between technical solutions and business needs; relay information to PSS Back team.
• Configure and test: contribute to Pennylane configuration for client accounting processes; participate in functional testing to validate solution fit before migration; conduct intermediate and final functional tests post-migration; debug and resolve business-side issues collaboratively.
• Drive optimization: identify and prioritize automation and process improvement opportunities; implement via documentation and concrete proposals; track satisfaction post-deployment.
• Continuous improvement: monitor product and accounting industry trends; propose enhancements; flag gaps or issues; transform needs into actionable solutions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Cross-functional collaboration: understand PSS Back priorities and support production work as needed.
Required: accounting qualification (IUT GEA, BTS CGO, DCG, DSCG, or Master CCA); hands-on experience in an accounting firm, ideally with prior migration projects; strong verbal and written communication with accounting professionals; customer-service mindset and relationship-building skills; ability to work autonomously and in teams with flexibility for rapid product evolution; continuous learning orientation; minimum A2 English.
Nice-to-have: startup environment comfort; B1+ English; strong synthesis and teaching ability; proactivity and autonomy.
