Chariot is a fintech company modernizing charitable giving infrastructure. The company has grown 1300% YoY and now processes over $1.8B in annual payment volume for tens of thousands of nonprofits including American Cancer Society, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and University of Pennsylvania.
Chariot Labs is an internal engineering team tasked with automating and modernizing systems across GTM, Operations, and Compliance as the company scales. This role focuses on building AI agents and internal tools that will power the next phase of growth.
You will write production-grade code, architect and orchestrate AI agents, and build internal systems from scratch or iterate existing ones to v100. You'll work directly with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to translate strategy into automated workflows, programmatic outbound, and custom tools. The role emphasizes breaking down assumptions—for example, questioning whether a CRM is even necessary in an AI-driven world and prototyping alternative workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and orchestrating AI agents using tools like Claude Managed Agents and Claude Code
- Architecting systems using patterns like Thin Harness/Fat Skills
- Writing production code in Python, JavaScript, and SQL
- Integrating with APIs and building data pipelines
- Understanding sales funnels and business logic behind data movements
- Shipping v1 quickly and iterating based on feedback
- Acting as an owner and self-starter
The ideal candidate has 3+ years in Engineering, Growth Product Management, or technical RevOps. You care deeply about simplicity, usability, and shipping. You've shipped AI agent workflows in production (not just demos) and understand how to build systems that improve over time. You're comfortable with ambiguity and excited about 0-to-1 product work.
Chariot offers comprehensive benefits including 100% covered healthcare options, 18 days PTO, 100% paid parental leave (12 weeks for primary caregivers), employee-friendly equity (2-year exercise window, double-trigger acceleration), weekly team lunches, free dinner past 8pm, monthly team events, and 2-3 company retreats annually. The NYC office operates Monday-Thursday in-person with work-from-home Fridays.
