The Channel Business Consultant is responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities through networking, channel partners, and self-generated leads. This role executes aggressive prospecting strategies to gain access to key decision makers within prospective client organizations and maintains ownership of the entire sales cycle, including post-sale and implementation processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively generate new business opportunities within a designated territory
- Conduct thorough analysis, planning, and implementation of products and services tailored to client needs
- Negotiate pricing and scope of service with prospective clients
- Complete required sales paperwork and finalize client service agreements
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecast using Salesforce CRM
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
- Stay informed about industry trends, new products, services, and competitive initiatives
- Schedule and conduct regular meetings with clients during implementation phases
- Develop lead generation strategies and track activities in CRM
- Prepare executive summaries for client presentations
- Participate in monthly consulting meetings and provide training to team members
- Frequent domestic travel required for team onsite meetings, client visits, customer events, industry conferences, and training sessions
- Build and maintain relationships with team members and cross-functional partners
- Attend webinars and training to stay current on best practices
The role is primarily office-based with sedentary work involving computer use, but requires regular travel to client sites and company locations. The position demands strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, multitasking ability, and sound judgment in complex situations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (or combination of experience, skills, education, certifications, or job training programs)
- At least 2 years of sales experience preferred
- Previous experience and proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Valid, non-restrictive driver's license required due to regular travel
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and exceed sales targets
- Exceptional negotiation and closing skills
- Understanding and execution of sales methodologies and best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks while staying organized
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Commitment to customer needs and high ethical standards
