Modern Treasury is seeking a finance leader to drive the company's next phase of growth. This is a strategic C-level role reporting directly to the CEO with broad influence across the business.
You will partner closely with the CEO and management team on company strategy, organizational design, and resource allocation. Key responsibilities include:
- Shape the company operating model and organizational structure, determining how Modern Treasury is built and where it focuses.
- Drive resource allocation decisions to maximize long-term company and shareholder value.
- Guide product economics by bringing financial rigor to product strategy, pricing, packaging, and investment tradeoffs. Negotiate with financial partners and banks to drive sustainable unit economics for the payments business.
- Lead capital markets and strategic transactions, including primary capital raises, debt facilities, M&A, and other strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a credible partner to the Board and investors, communicating financial performance, outlook, and strategy clearly.
- Build and scale the finance organization, defining team structure, roles, and responsibilities as the business grows.
- Develop and implement AI strategy for the finance function, identifying how AI can enhance team operations and capabilities.
Modern Treasury provides infrastructure for money movement, helping teams launch and scale payment experiences rapidly. The platform offers developer tools, APIs for fiat and stablecoins, built-in compliance, ledgering, and reporting capabilities.
Ideal candidates combine strategic judgment, commercial instincts, and deep financial expertise. You should be a company builder and driver with experience navigating strategic transactions such as capital raises, debt financings, or M&A. Strong communication and storytelling skills are essential for representing the business to boards and investors. Experience in high-growth startups, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital is valued. Fintech infrastructure or payments experience is a strong plus.
