PhysicsX is a deep-tech company building AI-driven simulation software for engineering and manufacturing across aerospace, defense, materials, energy, semiconductors, and automotive. The company accelerates hardware innovation by enabling high-fidelity, multi-physics simulation through AI inference across the engineering lifecycle. You will develop and own advanced CFD and multiphase flow models for complex industrial applications. Your responsibilities include: • Develop multiphase flow models (gas-liquid, solid-liquid, VOF, Euler-Euler/Euler-Lagrange) for industrial and process engineering applications • Model non-Newtonian and complex fluid rheology, including high-viscosity, shear-thinning, and particle-laden flows • Implement reactive and coupled-physics flow modelling, linking CFD with reaction kinetics, heat transfer, biokinetic, combustion, or electrochemical frameworks • Own meshing strategy and generation for complex geometries including rotating machinery, internal flow passages, and free-surface interfaces • Build parametric CAD models (NX, CATIA) coupled with simulation pipelines for automated design optimization and design-of-experiments studies • Execute end-to-end multi-physics model development: geometry cleanup, meshing, solver setup, post-processing, and experimental validation • Apply scale-up/scale-down methodology to translate experimental data to full-scale CFD models • Leverage HPC resources including job scheduling, MPI-based distributed computing, GPU acceleration, and cloud platforms (Flux) • Build surrogate models and AI-CFD coupling to support design space exploration and process optimization • Structure CFD datasets for downstream AI/ML training, applying data sampling techniques (LHS, quasi-random, adaptive) • Conduct experimental validation workflows, interpreting discrepancies and systematically improving model fidelity • Partner with clients to scope and deliver complex engineering challenges via CAE and AI solutions, communicating results and recommending actionable next steps You bring deep expertise in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and multiphase modelling within bioprocess and chemical engineering. You are highly proficient in at least one of Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or Fluent, with experience modelling complex flow behaviour in industrial bioprocess systems. You excel at automating simulation tools to create scalable optimization workflows. Python proficiency and parametric CAD experience (NX or CATIA) are valued. You are a problem solver who grasps advanced engineering concepts across multiple industries and works effectively with internal and external stakeholders, often on-site, to develop high-fidelity simulation models that feed into practical AI tools.
