Neko Health is seeking a Category Manager to lead strategic procurement of medical equipment globally. The role combines procurement expertise with medical device market knowledge to shape Neko's sourcing strategy for third-party medical devices and capital equipment—a critical and highly regulated spend category. In the first 6–12 months, you will develop and own the global procurement strategy for medical equipment categories including blood laboratory analysers, ultrasound systems, cardiovascular diagnostic equipment, ECG devices, and ancillary hardware. You'll manage strategic supplier relationships with third-party medical device manufacturers and distributors, serving as the primary procurement interface for key partners. Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end sourcing (market analysis, RFP development, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation, contract award), driving value through multi-year agreements and bulk purchase strategies, and conducting commercial negotiations that balance cost, quality, service levels, and regulatory compliance. You'll manage the full supplier contract lifecycle—execution, performance monitoring, renewals, and terminations—while collaborating closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Clinical teams to ensure equipment meets performance, quality, and regulatory standards (MDR, FDA). Additional duties include supporting the Generation 2 equipment programme and new product introduction activities, developing procurement playbooks with device selection criteria and supplier qualification frameworks, monitoring the medical device market for technology developments and pricing trends, managing supplier performance against KPIs, creating and managing purchase orders, handling full logistics for medical equipment (international shipping, customs, last-mile delivery), and preparing performance dashboards and reports. You must have proven experience in strategic procurement within medical device, healthcare technology, or life sciences sectors, with direct experience procuring capital medical equipment (blood laboratory systems, ultrasound, cardiovascular diagnostics, or equivalent). A background in medical, biomedical, or clinical sciences is highly desirable. Strong understanding of source-to-contract activities in regulated environments (EU MDR, ISO 13485, FDA) is essential. You'll need demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder relationships with global medical device OEMs, commercial acumen with a track record of delivering measurable cost savings, proficiency in Microsoft 365 and ERP systems, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and ability to work across time zones and travel internationally. CIPS or equivalent procurement certification is a plus.
