Paytm is seeking an experienced Category Manager to build, own, and scale a high-potential category from the ground up. This is an entrepreneurial, high-impact role combining business ownership, product thinking, strategy, and execution. You will own the end-to-end strategy, growth, and P&L for the category. Key responsibilities include: - Define and build customer-first financing journeys where customers pay interest only on the amount utilized, enabling flexible and efficient borrowing experiences. - Develop and execute strategies to drive customer acquisition, engagement, utilization, retention, and overall category growth. - Use data, customer insights, and experimentation to continuously optimize product and business performance. - Track and improve key metrics including portfolio growth, customer adoption, utilization, profitability, and unit economics. - Partner closely with Product, Technology, Risk, Operations, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to execute category strategy. - Work with senior leadership to identify, launch, and scale new business initiatives as part of Paytm's new venture. - Operate with a zero-to-one mindset, taking ownership from identifying opportunities through building scalable businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of owning and scaling businesses or categories, with the ability to operate across product, growth, operations, and commercial functions. REQUIREMENTS: - 8–12 years of experience in Category Management, Product Management, Business Management, General Management, or similar role - Proven experience owning and scaling a business, category, or product with measurable impact on growth and profitability - Strong understanding of customer journeys, marketplaces, merchant ecosystems, supply chains, logistics, digital businesses, or financial products - Experience managing large portfolios and driving business outcomes through data-led decision making - Strong commercial and analytical orientation, with ability to translate insights into actionable business strategies - Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills - Strong problem-solving ability and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-changing environments - Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build from zero, move with speed, and take end-to-end ownership
