Catawiki is a curated marketplace for buying and selling special objects, with over 25 million unique items sold to date. Each week, more than 100,000 items are auctioned by in-house experts. The Asian & Tribal Arts category is one of the most culturally rich and commercially complex within Collectables, spanning Asian Art, Tribal & Ethnographic Art, and related subcategories.
As Category Manager, you will own the strategic growth and P&L for this high-potential business. You'll build and execute a sustainable growth plan, using data-driven dashboards to steer auction quality, pricing, reserve price strategy, and supply mix. You'll shape auction planning around seasonality, market dynamics, collector behavior, and seller portfolios while driving curation excellence to reduce performance volatility.
You will lead and develop an international team of Experts, providing coaching, performance management, and talent development. You'll partner closely with Sales and Business Development to strengthen the seller pipeline and attract high-quality, repeat consignors. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key sellers, institutions, and professional networks in the Asian & Tribal field is critical to success.
Cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Operations, and Commercial teams will unlock new growth opportunities. You'll monitor global trends in Asian & Tribal markets, including pricing dynamics, collector demand, and competitive movements. The role requires strong commercial judgment, data literacy, people leadership, and the ability to balance growth with quality in a fast-paced environment.
This is a hybrid role based in Amsterdam, with an expectation to work from the office at least two days per week to collaborate with fellow Category Managers and stakeholders.
