Alan is a fast-growing healthtech company integrating insurance, prevention, and care into a unified user experience. The company serves over 1 million members across multiple European markets and has reached €800M+ ARR.
As a Care Expert, you will be the frontline support for Alan's members, handling inquiries via chat, email, and phone. Your primary responsibilities include:
**Core Responsibilities:**
- Respond to member questions in a meaningful, pleasant, and timely manner, prioritizing transparency, accuracy, clarity, and helpfulness on health-related matters
- Deliver exceptional customer service while managing sensitive healthcare information
- Contribute to process and product improvements by analyzing member interactions, identifying pain points, and proposing solutions
- Participate in projects aligned with your interests and background to enhance Alan's operations and tools
- Support the growth of the Belgium care team by mentoring new team members and sharing expertise in healthcare and insurance
- Help build and strengthen the emerging Belgium care team as it scales rapidly
**Work Environment:**
Flexible remote work is available, but the company values in-office collaboration. You will be part of a small but rapidly growing Belgium care team with significant expansion plans.
**Important Note:**
The insurance profession is regulated in Belgium. All employees who interact with the public must pass a basic insurance knowledge exam within their first year of employment (some exemptions may apply). Alan covers the cost of this exam.
**Requirements:**
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer support, education, or communication
- Bilingual proficiency: English + Dutch OR English + French (required)
- Passion for member care and problem-solving
- Strong written communication skills
- Comfortable with computers and technology
- Highly empathetic attitude
- Motivated and entrepreneurial mindset
- Enthusiastic about teamwork, continuous learning, and mentoring others
- Must be legally authorized to work in Belgium or France
- Familiarity with the Belgian healthcare system is a plus but not required
