Alan is a prevention-focused health insurance company serving 1M+ members across Europe and Canada. The company integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a unified platform and has reached €800M+ in ARR.
As a Care Expert on the Belgium team, you will be the frontline support for Alan members, handling requests via chat, email, and phone. Your responsibilities include:
**Core Duties:**
- Respond to member inquiries with transparency, accuracy, and clarity on health and insurance matters
- Deliver exceptional customer service while managing sensitive healthcare-related questions
- Analyze member interactions to identify process and product improvement opportunities
- Contribute to implementing better support tools and workflows
- Help onboard and mentor new care team members as the Belgium team grows
- Participate in building and scaling the care function in Belgium, which is currently small but growing rapidly
**What You Bring:**
- 2+ years of experience in customer support, education, or communication roles
- Bilingual fluency: English + Dutch OR English + French (required)
- Strong written communication skills and empathy for member needs
- Comfort with technology and computer systems
- Entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork and learning
- Bonus: familiarity with the Belgian healthcare system (training provided if needed)
**Requirements:**
- 2+ years in customer support, education, or communication
- Bilingual: English + Dutch or English + French (mandatory)
- Strong written communication ability
- Empathetic, motivated, and team-oriented
- Comfortable with technology
- Must be legally eligible to work in Belgium or France
- Will need to pass a basic insurance knowledge test within first year (exam covered by Alan; some exemptions apply)
**Work Environment:**
Remote-flexible with value placed on in-person collaboration. Full-time role at A1-B1 salary level per Alan's equity framework.
