Fluidstack is building civilization-scale compute infrastructure for AI at unprecedented speed and scale. The company is acquiring power, designing and operating data centers, and rethinking every layer of the stack to deploy 10-100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else.
The Supply Chain team is responsible for sourcing gigawatt-scale compute—the largest buildout of compute in history—while making supply chain a competitive advantage rather than a constraint. The team uses AI-driven forecasting to predict lead times, demand, and disruption with industry-leading precision.
As CapEx Commodity Manager, you will own sourcing strategy for capital equipment across the entire build program, from long-lead power and cooling equipment to modular structures. You will run competitive sourcing events, evaluate suppliers on price, capacity, lead time, warranty, and financial health, and carry awards through to contract signature. You will negotiate and execute capital equipment agreements, framework agreements, and pricing amendments, coordinating with Legal and Finance on payment milestones, warranties, liquidated damages, and escalation terms.
You will partner with Finance on CapEx planning, tracking committed spend against budget and forecasting cash flow from award to delivery. You will deliver cost reduction through standardization, demand aggregation across sites, and volume agreements, and build dual-source plans to eliminate single-source risk on critical equipment.
The company operates with full autonomy, insane urgency, first-principles reasoning, and a focus on building something that matters. You will own things end-to-end, take on scope without being asked, and operate at high intensity.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated experience sourcing and negotiating high-value capital equipment or construction packages, backed by total cost of ownership models that survive supplier pushback
- Experience structuring capital contracts with milestone payments, warranties, liquidated damages, and escalation terms, and managing them through delivery
- Track record of partnering with Finance on CapEx budgets and cash flow forecasts, with documented savings delivered
- Proven ability to run RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes end-to-end, from supplier qualification through contract signature
- Experience tracking supplier performance with scorecards spanning quality, on-time delivery, and cost, and acting on data before slips reach the schedule
- Working knowledge of ERP and procurement platforms (SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa, or equivalent) sufficient to run sourcing events and spend analytics independently
- Bonus: CPSM or CPP certification; capital procurement experience in data center, energy, or industrial construction environments
