Voyager Technologies is seeking a Cable Harness Engineer to join Voyager Lunar Systems in Pittsburgh, PA. This hybrid role reports to the Electronic Systems Manager and focuses on designing wiring harness assemblies for lunar landers and other flight vehicles capable of surviving harsh environmental conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design wiring harness assemblies for aerospace and space applications
- Ensure compatibility of all wiring harness components
- Perform bend radii checks, voltage drop analysis, and harness mass calculations
- Execute parts standardization and resolve issues with connectors, backshells, and shielding
- Select connectors including Mil-Spec and high-reliability interconnect types
- Define design parameters including twisting, shielding, and gauge selection
- Create 2D harness schematics and layout drawings for in-house manufacturing and external vendors
Minimum qualifications:
- 2+ years of wiring harness design experience for military, aerospace, or space applications
- Prior experience manufacturing wiring harnesses for military, aerospace, or space applications
- A.A. or B.S. degree or related experience
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of DWV, Hi-Pot, and IR testing; familiarity with NASA-STD-8739.4A and AS50881; experience with MIL-STD-461G; proficiency in Solidworks Electrical or equivalent CAD tools; IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification; 3D harness modeling experience; and knowledge of space environmental testing (TVAC, shock/vibration, EMI).
