Canopy is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to own, optimize, and scale Zuora, their core billing and subscription management system. This hybrid role (Monday, Wednesday, Friday in-office in Draper, Utah) sits at the intersection of technical systems and business operations, with responsibility for designing and optimizing billing workflows, subscription management, and financial reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own daily operations and strategic vision for Zuora usage across the company
- Design and optimize workflows for billing, subscription management, and financial reporting with focus on automation, scalability, and accuracy
- Anticipate business needs and deliver functionality to support new product launches, pricing changes, and internal process improvements
- Drive seamless cross-system integrations and data flows across the business systems stack
- Identify and implement AI-powered automation to improve data accuracy, efficiency, and user experience
- Partner with system owners and business stakeholders to align tools with end-to-end business processes
- Communicate solutions and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and business audiences
- Build and maintain documentation on system architecture, processes, and integrations
- Identify gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives
The role emphasizes reducing manual work through automation and AI-driven solutions, with the analyst expected to be thoughtful, process-oriented, and skilled at solving complex technical puzzles.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience owning Zuora or another billing system (Chargebee, Maxio, etc.); 5+ years preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or related discipline
- Strong system design fundamentals with proven hands-on record of solving business problems
- Direct, deep experience with quote-to-cash processes, billing system design, and business operations in a SaaS environment
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Clear, confident communication skills able to translate technical constraints into business language and vice versa
- Demonstrated ability to produce technical artifacts and documentation
- Hands-on experience with SQL and data modeling
