As a Business Operations Associate, you will own problems end-to-end using a build-operate-transfer model. You'll identify operational bottlenecks by analyzing dispatch, order, and delivery data, then visiting warehouses, markets, and delivery routes to understand root causes firsthand. You'll break down vague problems into actionable pieces, design solutions (which may involve process changes or engineering specs), implement fixes, and monitor results until they stabilize. Once proven, you'll hand off ownership to the permanent team and move to the next challenge.
Work spans operations, supply chain, finance, growth, and engineering. You'll use Claude and other AI tools to accelerate problem-solving. Examples include diagnosing warehouse dispatch delays or resolving payment settlement issues—improvements that directly impact thousands of stores.
You'll design solutions for specific end-users: warehouse loaders, head office staff, or founders. Success requires clear communication, self-direction in ambiguous situations, intellectual curiosity about why systems work as they do, persistence through unglamorous execution phases, and genuine interest in learning from customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- No prior experience required; open to any background or career stage
- Clear communication in writing and speech
- Fast learning and ability to make progress independently in messy, unstructured problems
- Questioning mindset; ability to reason from first principles
- Ability to finish projects, including weeks of hands-on execution and troubleshooting
- Desire to spend time with customers and inform product decisions
- Ability to work effectively across all organizational levels and respond to direct feedback
NICE TO HAVE:
- Hands-on experience with data tools (Google Sheets, SQL, Metabase)
- Track record of building or running something outside formal employment (business, side project, society, team)
