Motorway is the UK's largest online car-selling platform, connecting private sellers with over 8,000 dealers nationwide. Founded in 2017 and backed by leading technology investors (£143M Series C), the company is scaling rapidly and seeking a Business Operations Associate to drive operational and commercial improvements on the B2B dealer side. This is a dynamic, broad-scoped role focused on solving complex operational problems across the dealer journey. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and external partners to identify opportunities, develop hypotheses, and execute initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes. Key responsibilities include enhancing the dealer post-sale experience (particularly Motorway Move transport and Motorway Pay payment products), identifying friction points to boost retention and reduce cancellations, embedding AI and automation to streamline workflows, researching and implementing new post-sale services, and leading cross-functional projects from conception through implementation. You will conduct data-driven analysis of operational, financial, and product metrics to diagnose problems and uncover improvement opportunities, define success metrics and tracking frameworks, and operate with high ownership and pace in a fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates high agency and problem-solving ability, thriving in ambiguity with a wide span of control. You should have strong B2B and dealer empathy, a strategic and analytical mindset with proven data analysis experience, and a track record of driving cross-functional initiatives in fast-moving environments. Clear, structured communication skills are essential for translating complex operational topics for leadership and stakeholders. You should be tech-forward and AI-curious, eager to experiment with emerging tools to automate workflows and improve productivity, and comfortable collaborating across teams to align operational improvements with company goals. Exposure to leadership, including the Director of Dealer Services and COO, is built into the role.
