Hometap is a fintech company offering home equity investments that allow homeowners to access equity without taking on debt. The company has been recognized by the Boston Globe, Forbes, and Inc. for its workplace culture and innovation. As Business Operations Analyst, you will partner with the Manager of Business Operations to own and develop the reports, dashboards, and analyses that drive Hometap's core HEI business performance. You will be responsible for the operating rhythm and metrics that keep the business running smoothly, with opportunity to expand your scope and build cross-functional relationships over time. Key responsibilities include: - Produce and own weekly and monthly performance reporting, analyzing KPI trends to inform stakeholders - Maintain and update Hometap's primary commercial forecasting model, with growing involvement in model logic and design - Run ad-hoc analyses to answer business questions from leadership and cross-functional teams - Support strategic analysis by pulling and manipulating data, progressing toward ownership of framing and delivery - Build, maintain, and iterate on Tableau dashboards - Support quarterly and annual planning through scenario formulation - Provide change management support and facilitate cross-functional projects, with opportunity to own projects as your role expands You will work primarily with the Manager of Business Operations on a day-to-day basis, while increasingly collaborating with Growth Marketing, Sales, Investment Operations, and other business units. The role is based in Boston with expectation to work from the office a few days per week, though remote work is possible. You are precise, resourceful, and inquisitive—taking pride in quality and accuracy, finding creative solutions, and asking questions when encountering knowledge gaps. You welcome ambiguity, approach problems methodically, adapt as situations evolve, and demonstrate proactivity by anticipating stakeholder needs and building rigor into processes. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Economics, Business, or related field - 1–3 years of experience in an analytical role, preferably on a business, operations, or strategy-oriented team - Proficiency in SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and Tableau (or similar BI tool) - Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently - Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate and build cross-functional relationships - Self-starter mindset and bias toward ownership, with judgment to know when to escalate versus handle independently - Innate curiosity and creativity—eagerness to learn about and iterate on processes, products, and industries - Comfort working in a remote-first environment with appropriate time management, proactive outreach, and high accountability Bonus qualifications: - Experience in Fintech, Proptech, or early-stage/high-growth companies - Familiarity with dbt, GitHub, and/or GitLab - Ability to work from Boston office on a regular basis
