Salary: USD 215,000 - 225,000 / annual
Voyager Space is seeking a Business Development Senior Director for Science & Exploration to lead growth of the company's space business across government and commercial customers. Reporting to the EVP of Business Development – Space Solutions, you will develop and execute near and long-term business development strategies aligned with annual operating plans and long-range strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end capture lifecycle and strategic planning processes, engaging customers and vendors on pre-solicitation efforts, and fulfilling RFIs, RFPs, and partner requests. You will track emerging markets and trends to propose new solutions and strategic partnerships, addressing competitive and demand shifts. Collaboration across line of business, technology development, product development, finance, marketing, and other stakeholders is essential to drive sustainable long-term growth.
You will attend industry events to establish the company's presence, network for new business opportunities, and strengthen external relationships. A key aspect of the role is fostering an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the organization.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or management (MBA or engineering master's preferred). You must have 12+ years of professional experience in the space industry with notable national security space experience and familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Process (FAR/IDIQ). Additionally, 10+ years executing sales and business development with strong pipeline development in technology, defense, or aerospace is required.
You should have demonstrated experience executing business development activities and briefing executive leadership, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging prospective customers, partners, vendors, and media. Strong project management, multitasking, research, and analytical capabilities are essential. A self-starter mentality with desire to innovate in a hands-on, fast-paced environment is critical.
The role requires frequent travel, with some months exceeding 50% overnight travel. You must possess or be able to secure a Secret Department of Defense security clearance.
