Nelo is a profitable fintech in Mexico offering credit cards, BNPL loans, bill payments, and an in-app marketplace. Founded in 2019 by former Uber international growth leads, the company has achieved $100M in annual revenue, $1B annualized GMV, and raised $140M+ in equity and debt. With 60 employees and a lean, technical team, Nelo is one of Latin America's most capital-efficient consumer fintechs. Tienda Nelo, the in-app marketplace, is expanding four core categories: Shoes, Beauty, Electronics, and Home & Kitchen appliances. The company has completed detailed gap analysis identifying exactly which brands and distributors are missing from each category—brands behind Mexico's bestselling products with zero presence on the platform, entire footwear verticals unserved, top kitchen and floor-care brands absent or barely listed, and leading TV and wearables brands missing from electronics. In this role, you will own brand acquisition for Tienda Nelo, converting gap analysis into live marketplace selection. You'll report to the marketplace/commercial lead who controls onboarding, pricing, and merchandising, ensuring brands you sign go live quickly. Key responsibilities include: signing target brands (directly or via distributors) from prioritized hit lists; generating your own pipeline through multichannel prospecting (cold email, calls, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, WhatsApp, trade shows, in-person visits); moving each category toward selection goals (e.g., Shoes from 6,600 to 8,300 live products with branded share increasing from 42% to 60%); qualifying and pitching the right model per brand (1P wholesale vs. 3P seller); handling standard objections around channel conflict, fees, brand protection, and logistics; shepherding signed brands through onboarding to ensure deals become live, in-stock listings; and maintaining disciplined pipeline hygiene with personal KPIs (touches, meetings, brands signed, products activated). Success at 3 months means every priority brand contacted with live opportunity status, 10+ qualified meetings held monthly, and 3–5 target brands/distributors onboarded each month. At 6 months, you'll have 18 target brands live with in-stock selection and measurable movement on category goals. Required qualifications: 2+ years in B2B sales, business development, or seller/brand recruitment with a demonstrable hunter track record; e-commerce and retail fluency (margins, 1P vs. 3P vs. dropship economics, Mexican retail landscape); multichannel prospecting proficiency (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, personalized cold outreach at volume, phone and in-person comfort); ability to set personal quotas and work the list independently. Strong signals include marketplace seller/brand recruitment experience or sales into consumer brands/distributors in footwear, electronics, appliances, or beauty; native Spanish with professional English; startup or 0-to-1 experience; fintech/BNPL familiarity. Not a fit if you're a farmer rather than a hunter—this role has no existing book of business and requires self-directed pipeline generation.
