As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for generating new business through outbound prospecting and cold outreach. You will work closely with the VP of Sales and Account Executives to identify and source high-value meetings that lead to pipeline and closed revenue. Your role involves prospecting across a high volume of accounts while strategically prioritizing your time and effort.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with sales leadership and Account Executives to identify and source meetings
- Prospecting across high-volume accounts with strategic prioritization
- Becoming a market expert on target industries and personas
- Building a point of view on customer needs and developing qualifying questions
- Contributing to the evolution of the sales process as the company scales
- Conducting outbound prospecting through cold calls, emails, social media, and mass campaigns
- Creating and maintaining prospect databases with complete information
- Qualifying opportunities and collaborating with Account Executives
- Managing follow-up and consistently building the sales pipeline
- Achieving department standards for activity metrics including minimum daily calls and weekly discovery calls
This is positioned as a fast-track opportunity within a hyper-growth company. High performers in the BDR role will have opportunities for career advancement within the organization. You will work from the downtown Toronto office 4-5 days per week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6-12+ months of sales experience or equivalent
- Consistent track record of meeting and exceeding goals
- Highly strategic thinker and problem solver with solutions-first and adaptable mindset
- Ability to work from downtown office 4-5 days per week
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience with Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, ScratchPad, Gong, and/or SalesNavigator
- Tech industry experience or proven success in fast-paced environments
- Strong passion for fintech
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to embrace change and accountability
