Peregrine Technologies, backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, builds an AI-enabled platform that transforms siloed data into operational intelligence for public safety organizations, government agencies, and private-sector institutions. The platform currently serves hundreds of customers across 30+ states and two countries, reaching over 125 million people.
As a Business Development Representative, you'll own the top of the funnel for Peregrine's expansion into local government. This is a high-velocity, high-ownership role designed for an ambitious early-career professional to help build a function from the ground up.
Key responsibilities include:
**Pipeline Creation & Field Engagement:** Represent Peregrine at conferences, events, and agency meetings nationwide, owning lead generation and follow-up end-to-end. Qualify high-volume inbound leads via multi-channel outreach with urgency and precision. Generate qualified leads and book discovery and demo meetings alongside Account Executives. Drive activity metrics for pipeline generation, including follow-up tracking and demo scheduling.
**Outreach & Sales Execution:** Identify and build early-stage relationships with law enforcement, emergency operations, and government agencies. Tailor Peregrine's value propositions to specific agency challenges. Execute disciplined outbound prospecting with persistent follow-up and systematic scaling. Continuously refine talk tracks, objection handling, and discovery techniques based on performance data.
**Reporting & Cross-Team Coordination:** Maintain accurate CRM records of pipeline activity, meetings set, and opportunities progressed. Partner with Account Executives to route qualified leads and support deals through the sales cycle. Surface territory insights on event effectiveness, regional trends, and lead conversion.
You'll sit within the Growth Marketing team and collaborate across marketing, sales, and forward-deployed engineering. The role involves up to 50% travel throughout the U.S., with a base in either San Francisco or Washington, D.C.
Required qualifications: 2-3 years in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles (strong early-career candidates from outside SaaS encouraged). Proven performance in demanding environments, relentless drive and results orientation, exceptional interpersonal communication, clear persuasive writing and speaking, ability to read a room and tailor messaging, self-direction, coachability, resilience in face of resistance, strong time management and CRM hygiene.
