Electric is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives across the Puget Sound region. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive business development strategies, building and maintaining relationships with owners, developers, engineering firms, architects, consultants, general contractors, and trade partners. The successful candidate will identify and qualify project opportunities from concept through contract award, partnering closely with Operations, Preconstruction, Estimating, and Marketing teams to develop pursuit and win strategies.
Key responsibilities include maintaining an active market presence through customer meetings, project visits, industry organizations, and networking events; developing and maintaining a documented opportunity pipeline with measurable growth objectives and forecasting metrics; supporting proposal development, interviews, presentations, and pursuit strategies; and creating executive-level relationships with key decision makers and project influencers. The role requires providing market intelligence, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to regional leadership while fostering long-term client relationships that result in repeat business and negotiated opportunities.
The candidate will drive a consultative sales approach focused on understanding customer needs and aligning company resources to provide value-driven solutions. This includes representing the company at industry organizations, conferences, trade events, and community functions, collaborating with project teams to ensure successful transitions and ongoing client satisfaction, and maintaining CRM activity and business development reporting requirements.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree (preferred) and minimum of ten years of experience in the electrical construction industry, with at least five years in Business Development, Preconstruction, Client Development, Account Management, or Strategic Sales. Strong business development and relationship-building skills are essential, along with understanding of electrical construction, estimating, preconstruction, project delivery methods, CRM systems, and strategic opportunity planning. A valid driver's license is required. The position requires approximately 40–60% travel throughout the Puget Sound region with occasional overnight travel, with the expectation that the role is either in the office or with clients, with minimal remote work.
