This is a pre-sales Business Development Associate role reporting to the Director of Business Development. You will be the first point of contact for many future customers, focusing on setting up introductions with ideal customers and qualifying their needs. You'll work closely with Field Sales Representatives (FSRs) to build pipeline and develop sales opportunities.
Key responsibilities include booking meetings for FSRs, qualifying leads and converting them into opportunities, lead generation and outbound pipeline development using various tools, maintaining accurate CRM records, meeting phone and email activity quotas, collaborating with Marketing and Channel teams, and researching prospective organizations that can benefit from SecurityScorecard's solutions. You'll identify decision-makers within target organizations and craft creative, persistent outbound messaging.
The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or business development with a proven track record of consistent performance. You should have excellent communication, discovery, and presentation skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Salesforce, Outreach, and LinkedIn. The role offers ongoing training, mentorship, career coaching, and guidance—it's designed as a springboard to full-cycle sales roles and provides broadly applicable skills across many disciplines.
You should be a self-starter comfortable with limited supervision, possess strong problem-solving and research skills, be tech-savvy and quick to learn new software, receptive to feedback and coaching, and work with urgency and a positive attitude.
