Relativity Space is building the Terran R rocket to deliver payloads to orbit and advance commercial spaceflight. The Reliability team embeds quality assurance throughout the design, manufacturing, test, and launch processes for the Terran R program. As a Build Reliability Engineer II focused on Propulsion, you will own critical reliability functions across the propulsion subsystem as the program transitions from development into production and scaled operations. Your responsibilities will span multiple domains: Design: Standardize drawings, conduct design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews, and manage configuration control for propulsion components and systems. Planning: Review work instructions, develop manufacturing processes, and document standard rework and repair procedures specific to propulsion hardware. Manufacturing: Conduct in-process build verification, coordinate traveled work, and ensure quality controls are embedded in production workflows. Testing & Launch: Support test planning, failure analysis, and launch readiness activities to validate propulsion system performance and reliability. You will collaborate directly with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams to understand constraints, proactively shape decisions, and balance speed with reliability. This role is critical during a pivotal moment: Terran R is tangible and gaining momentum, and the reliability processes you establish now will scale across the entire program and company.
