Relativity Space is building Terran R, a commercial launch vehicle designed to deliver payloads to orbit. The Reliability team embeds quality assurance throughout the design and production lifecycle, working closely with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams to balance speed with safety as the program scales from development into production.
As a Build Reliability Engineer II, you will own reliability across multiple domains of the Terran R vehicle. Your responsibilities span design standardization, design-for-manufacturability (DFM), and configuration management; process planning including work instruction review and rework/repair documentation; manufacturing oversight including in-process build verification and coordinate traveled work; and test/launch support. You will collaborate across engineering and operations teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks, establish scalable quality processes, and ensure that production ramp does not compromise vehicle reliability.
This role is ideal for an engineer with 3–6 years of experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing environments. You should have hands-on familiarity with reliability methodologies (FMEA, fault tree analysis), quality systems (AS9100, MIL-SPEC), and manufacturing processes. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential, as you will influence design and production decisions in real time.
