Firstbase, a subsidiary of AppDirect (a subscription commerce platform), is seeking a Billing Operations Associate to own the financial operations of its IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) program. This role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and emerging AI automation.
You will manage the financial lifecycle of hardware at end-of-life: reconciling settlement and revenue reports from resale and recycling partners, matching deposits against invoices, investigating discrepancies, and closing out financial records. The work is investigative and detail-oriented—you'll hunt for mismatched deposits, missing devices in partner files, and delayed revenue entries, then prove your findings and close them out.
Increasingly, you'll work alongside AI agents built into ITAD OS (the company's internal operations platform). These agents will handle routine queue work—pulling partner files apart, matching deposits, flagging anomalies—but you'll retain decision authority: the agent proposes, you validate and decide. Your value lies in knowing what the right answer should look like, catching confident AI errors, and evolving manual workflows into supervised automated ones.
Key responsibilities include: ingesting and reconciling settlement/revenue reports from partners (each sending different formats); reconciling device-level and order-level ITAD revenue against bank deposits; investigating unmatched records and ambiguous serials; owning end-to-end credit issuance workflows with Finance; raising and resolving discrepancies with vendors; producing executive-ready financial reporting (revenue, margin); reviewing Certificates of Destruction; monitoring action queues and service-level objectives; supporting shipment and recycling workflows; maintaining fair-market-value estimates for devices; and serving as primary liaison between Operations, Finance, Customer Success, and Warehouse teams.
You'll also be cross-trained across the broader ITAD operations (data destruction documentation, vendor management, shipping, logistics) so the team can cover for one another.
The position offers a flexible hybrid schedule: one day per week onsite in Buenos Aires, four days remote. Benefits include 15 paid working days (PTO) plus local holidays, comprehensive medical coverage (OSDE Plan 310) for you and dependents, wellness activity reimbursement, English lessons, and global/local events participation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in reconciliation, cash applications, billing, audit, accounts payable/receivable, or financial operations
- Demonstrated experience finding and resolving discrepancies (not just processing transactions); you should be able to discuss a specific number that didn't tie and what you did about it
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills: lookups, pivots, text-to-columns, deduplication, and genuine comfort cleaning up badly formatted exports
- Strong spoken and written English (you'll communicate directly with US and UK partners and colleagues; this will be assessed)
- Sound judgment to recognize when something is wrong and confidence to escalate rather than force a match
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple parallel workflows
- Comfort with structured SOPs but restlessness about improving them
- Resume must be submitted in English
