AppDirect, a subscription commerce platform powering millions of subscriptions worldwide, is seeking a Billing Operations Associate to join the ITAD (IT Asset Disposition) team at Firstbase, an AppDirect subsidiary. This role owns the financial operations of the IT Asset Disposition program, which manages hardware at end-of-life and revenue from resale or recycling.
You will be responsible for ingesting settlement and revenue reports from resale and recycling partners in various formats, reconciling device-level and order-level ITAD revenue against bank deposits, and allocating deposits to settlements. A significant portion of the work involves investigative problem-solving: finding and resolving discrepancies such as deposits that don't match invoices, missing devices in partner files, or revenue that hasn't reached the books. You'll own the final decision on settlement accuracy.
The role is evolving with AI tooling. The team is building AI agents within ITAD OS (the internal operations platform) to automate routine matching and flagging tasks. Your value will shift toward supervising these agents, validating their decisions, and catching errors—essentially automating your own workflows rather than being automated around.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ingesting and cleaning messy vendor data into trustworthy records
- Reconciling revenue against deposits and investigating variances
- Managing the end-to-end credit issuance workflow with Finance
- Raising and resolving discrepancies with vendor partners
- Producing financial reporting and executive summaries for the ITAD program
- Reviewing Certificates of Destruction and data destruction reports
- Monitoring action queues and ensuring SOP compliance
- Supporting shipment and recycling workflows with warehouses and partners
- Maintaining and enriching the internal database of fair market value estimates
- Acting as primary point of contact between Operations, Finance, Customer Success, and Warehouse teams
You'll work a hybrid schedule: one day per week onsite in Buenos Aires, four days remote. The team rotates responsibilities, so you'll be trained across data destruction documentation, vendor management, shipping, and logistics to provide coverage.
Benefits include 15 paid working days (PTO) plus local holidays, comprehensive medical coverage (OSDE Plan 310) for you and dependents, wellness activity reimbursement, English lessons, and participation in global and local events.
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in reconciliation, cash applications, billing, audit, accounts payable/receivable, or financial operations
- Demonstrated experience finding and resolving discrepancies, not just processing transactions
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills: lookups, pivots, text-to-columns, deduplication, and comfort cleaning up badly formatted exports
- Strong spoken and written English (you'll communicate directly with US and UK partners and colleagues via Slack; this will be assessed)
- Judgment to recognize when something is wrong and confidence to escalate rather than force a match
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple parallel workflows
- Comfort with structured SOPs but drive to improve them
- Resume must be submitted in English
