You will serve as the analytical and administrative backbone of Legora's benefits function, reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Benefits. This is a hands-on role for someone early in their benefits career who wants real ownership and the opportunity to help build processes, not just run them.
Key responsibilities include:

- Serve as primary point of contact for employee benefits questions, resolving issues with accuracy and care
- Support open enrollment end-to-end, from system configuration and testing through employee communications
- Administer leave of absence programs (FMLA, statutory leave, disability, parental leave) with compliance and empathy
- Reconcile benefits billing and carrier invoices monthly, audit for discrepancies, and report cost trends
- Maintain benefits data accuracy in HRIS systems through routine audits and vendor coordination
- Build and maintain SOPs, benefits guides, and employee communications
- Support compliance across ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and international statutory requirements as programs expand
- Partner with Payroll, Finance, and People Business Partners on cross-functional benefits questions
- Support regional benefits administration outside the US as the function scales
The role is based in Legora's Union Square office in New York, designed for ambitious builders with company-provided lunch daily. You'll collaborate with teams across Europe, APAC, and North America.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-4+ years of experience in benefits administration or related HR/analytical function
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
- Working knowledge of US benefits compliance (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA)
- Experience with HRIS platforms and benefits administration systems, including system testing and configuration support
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through, especially when reconciling data across systems and vendors
- Clear, empathetic communicator, comfortable helping employees through sensitive or complex benefits questions
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, still-forming environment where processes are still being built
- Experience with modern HRIS platforms (e.g., HiBob or similar) and using data to guide plan decisions
- Knowledge of Human Resources Outsourcing (HRO) providers is a plus
- Exposure to international or multi-country benefits programs is a plus
