The company partners with industrial innovators to scale products from concept to full production. As a Battery Engineer - Mechanical, you will lead the design and development of battery packs across multiple industries and program cycles. Your responsibilities include concept design, prototyping, detailed analysis, modeling, CAD drafting, manufacturing coordination, and testing. You will use performance simulations to model critical battery behavior, develop CAD and prototype models, and present results to customers and partners. Key responsibilities: - Lead product design and development for Re:Build battery packs - Communicate across engineering teams on program-critical decisions - Identify core issues, develop solutions, and communicate impacts internally and externally - Create CAD models, presentations, bills of materials, assembly, and installation procedures - Ensure compliance to standards and battery pack performance requirements - Work multi-functionally to verify battery software and hardware meet system needs Required qualifications: - 3+ years of system design for lithium-ion battery packs or related technologies - Minimum 6 years of engineering experience in automotive, aerospace, industrial, or related industries - Experience designing, developing, and testing battery systems for electrified propulsion or stationary energy storage - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong technical communication ability - Self-directed with demonstrated leadership, team building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills - Basic understanding of UL or similar regulatory certification processes - Proficiency with CAD programs (Catia or Solidworks) - Familiarity with analysis packages (FEMAP, NASTRAN, or equivalent) - B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar with practical emphasis Preferred qualifications include M.S. degree, 4+ years project management experience, BMS software development experience, and mathematical modeling or experimental battery work. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to export control regulations.
