You will join a Full-Stack team within the Imaging Platform group, responsible for the radiologist-facing experience and the primary access point to Aidoc's AI. The team manages the application on radiologists' computers and the Python-based Gateway service delivering data to endpoints.
As Backend Tech Lead, you will lead the design and development of scalable, reliable backend services powering radiologist-facing applications. Key responsibilities include: driving architectural discussions and technical decisions within the team's domain; receiving end-to-end ownership of product features from ideation through deployment; contributing hands-on to backend service implementation and occasionally frontend components; mentoring engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions; championing best practices for code quality, testing, and CI/CD; and collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams.
You bring 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing complex production-grade systems, with proven expertise building and maintaining backend services end-to-end (architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring). You have at least 2 years of technical leadership experience guiding design and implementation within teams or across components, with demonstrated responsibility for mentoring engineers and scaling engineering culture. You excel at leading high-scale, high-quality technical projects, applying best practices like design reviews and architectural trade-offs. You possess deep understanding of system design, APIs, and distributed systems principles; strong coding skills in modern backend languages (Python, Go, Node.js, Java, C#); experience with cloud environments (AWS or equivalent), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines; excellent collaboration and communication skills; proactive mindset with strong ownership; and familiarity with production monitoring and observability tools. Frontend technology experience is advantageous.
Aidoc operates a hybrid model from offices at 34 HaMasger Street in Tel Aviv with employee parking.
