Salary: USD 163,000 - 220,000 / annual

As a Backend Software Engineer focused on Payments & Partnerships, you will own a critical domain within the platform. You'll work with modern backend technologies, primarily Kotlin, in a fast-paced environment that deploys to production multiple times daily via CI/CD pipelines. Your responsibilities include:
- Collaborating closely with product, marketing, and front-end engineering teams to iterate rapidly and solve complex challenges
- Taking full ownership of features from inception through design, implementation, and production deployment, ensuring high quality and comprehensive test coverage
- Leveraging AI and LLM-powered tools to enhance developer productivity and enable experimentation
- Supporting and owning the Payments & Partnerships domain, which is central to the company's business operations
- Writing clean, testable code that adheres to object-oriented programming best practices
You'll work in a hybrid arrangement (3 days in office) from the Waltham, MA office. The role requires at least 6+ years of proven backend development experience with Java, Kotlin, Python, .NET, or similar languages. A B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent is required. Strong fundamentals in OOP, relational databases, and SQL are essential. Experience with distributed, cloud-based systems (particularly AWS) is highly valued. The ideal candidate is adaptable, passionate about learning new technologies, communicates effectively, and can navigate diverse technical domains.
