Ketch is an early-stage startup building patented technology in the data privacy and cybersecurity space. The company's core offering is a deploy-once, comply-and-secure-everywhere framework that gives businesses and software engineers intelligent control over data governance and privacy compliance across their infrastructure.
As a Backend Software Engineer, you will design and build large-scale, cloud-native systems that power Ketch's data privacy platform. You'll tackle complex technical challenges in areas like distributed systems, data processing, compliance automation, and security infrastructure. The role involves working with modern cloud technologies and architecting solutions that scale reliably and securely.
You'll collaborate with a team of smart engineers in a rapidly innovating space, learning from experienced colleagues while contributing your own technical expertise. The ideal candidate is pragmatic and results-oriented—someone who selects the right tools for each problem rather than defaulting to a single stack. You should be comfortable with ambiguity in an early-stage environment, enjoy shipping features quickly, and take ownership of systems you build.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in San Francisco. You'll have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of a company addressing privacy as a fundamental human right, working on infrastructure that impacts how enterprises handle sensitive data.
