As a Backend Engineer, you'll design and maintain core backend services that power data flows, reliability, and performance across the platform. You'll work on APIs, databases, and data pipelines that handle multi-TB scale traffic. The role requires end-to-end ownership of feature delivery, maintaining high SLAs, debugging production issues, and supporting front-end, edge-computing, and ML teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing APIs, databases, and data pipelines
- Scaling systems to handle growing traffic with full observability and cost optimization
- Taking end-to-end responsibility for feature delivery and maintaining SLAs
- Debugging and resolving production issues
- Supporting cross-functional teams (front-end, edge, ML)
You should have experience building systems at reasonable scale, proficiency in Go or Python, and hands-on experience designing and optimizing APIs and databases as traffic grows. Infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi, AWS), monitoring (Grafana), and authentication (Auth0) experience is a plus. You'll work in an onsite environment in Bangalore with distributed teams across time zones, requiring strong English communication skills.
