Sensor Tower (now part of Data.ai) is a digital intelligence platform serving 2,500+ enterprises with insights into market trends, advertising, competitor strategies, and consumer behavior across mobile, web, and gaming. The company processes tens of terabytes of data daily to power a SaaS platform (AppMagic) focused on app market intelligence for SMBs.
In this Backend Engineer role, you'll work with experienced engineers to build fast, reliable systems that make data accessible and understandable. You'll contribute to meaningful features from day one, participating in the full development lifecycle: design, implementation, quality assurance, and release. Responsibilities include improving and building new features for the AppMagic platform, working on parsing, data aggregation, API design, refactoring, and performance optimization. You'll create and optimize complex database queries for data analysis and modification, perform code reviews, and suggest improvements to tools and processes.
The engineering culture emphasizes simplicity over over-engineering, high code quality, extreme ownership of problems, and ruthless prioritization. The backend stack includes Golang, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Required qualifications: 3+ years of professional Go experience (or equivalent demonstrated coding ability via GitHub contributions and samples). Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse—you understand when to use ORMs versus raw SQL and can write and debug complex queries. You write testable, maintainable code and can see products through the user's perspective. You're curious and proactive, digging into sources independently rather than relying on second-hand information. You're fluent in both Russian and English for technical interviews. Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus. You use AI tools thoughtfully in development.
