BitGo is seeking a Backend Engineer E2 to join the Ecosystem Vertical and help build an API-first platform for businesses and developers to launch crypto products. You will design and build scalable, well-abstracted, and robust APIs, libraries, and services that empower the platform. You'll own functionality and scalability features from inception through deployment and customer integration, exposing and documenting capabilities to UI, third-party developers, and internal/external tooling.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and ship new features, writing clean and maintainable code, ensuring application performance and quality, identifying and fixing bottlenecks, and continuously evaluating new technologies to maximize development efficiency. You'll participate in code reviews, contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, and work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine product requirements. The role includes mentoring peers through code reviews and sharing best practices.
Required qualifications: 3+ years of backend and server-side development experience; strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and Express; expertise with PostgreSQL and MongoDB; solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and service-oriented architectures; experience with unit and functional testing, Git/GitHub, CI tools, and code review processes; ability to move quickly in fast-paced environments; bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline from a top university; and understanding of and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
Preferred experience includes developing consumer-facing crypto products, building public-facing APIs in production, full-stack capabilities with React familiarity, client/business partner engagement, and knowledge of digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, or accounting systems.
