As a Backend Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code that powers the insurance platform. You'll work with modern backend technologies, primarily Kotlin, in a fast-paced environment where code is pushed to production multiple times daily via CI/CD pipelines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing efficient, testable backend systems
- Participating in architectural discussions and code reviews to elevate engineering standards
- Identifying performance bottlenecks, optimizing database queries, and improving system scalability
- Adopting a "you build it, you run it" mindset to ensure production stability and observability
Required qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of proven backend development experience
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Python, .NET, or similar languages
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong understanding of OOP concepts and best practices
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and passion for learning new technologies
Desirable qualifications include hands-on experience with distributed, cloud-based environments (AWS or similar) and experience leading large-scale features end-to-end. The role is hybrid, based in Kfar Saba, Israel.
