Conductor is building the first AI orchestrator—a platform that lets teams run coding agents in the cloud or on local machines. Launched in summer 2025, Conductor is already used by engineers at leading companies including Linear, Vercel, Notion, Stripe, and Y Combinator. The company was founded by Charlie Holtz and Jackson de Campos, former employees at Point72 and Netflix respectively, who met at Brown University.
You will join a small, fast-growing team in San Francisco working on a product that fundamentally changes how developers interact with AI. The role offers significant opportunity for impact—the team is intentionally lean, meaning each engineer can shape the product and company direction. The company ships unusually fast and is well-funded by top-tier investors.
The ideal candidate has built and scaled cloud applications at fast-growing startups and understands which technical corners to cut and which to prioritize. You should enjoy moving fast, have strong opinions about software architecture, and possess deep technical expertise. Experience with AI tools is a plus but not required—the company is explicitly looking for strong software engineers, not AI/ML specialists. Startup experience is valued.
The tech stack includes TypeScript, Tauri, and React, but prior experience with these is not required. The company trusts engineers to learn new technologies quickly.
