AIRO Group is seeking an Avionics & Electrical Engineering Lead to spearhead the design and integration of mission-critical flight hardware for advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and autonomous aviation systems. This role combines hands-on technical execution with team leadership in a fast-paced, high-velocity environment where failure is not an option. Key responsibilities include: • Design and layout high-performance PCBs end-to-end, including schematic capture and multi-layer PCB design for high-speed digital, analog, power distribution, and RF circuits optimized for size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints in aerospace conditions. • Architect and integrate flight-critical electrical systems into new airframes, directly interfacing embedded controllers, power systems, propulsion electronics, and sensors while collaborating with mechanical and software engineering teams. • Rapidly prototype and iterate flight hardware, building and assembling prototype systems on the bench to accelerate transition from R&D concepts to full-scale production. • Troubleshoot complex system-level faults at the hardware-software boundary using lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs) and firmware debugging tools. • Execute environmental and flight qualification testing campaigns, including thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC validation, to ensure aerospace compliance, environmental sealing, and flight safety. • Lead and mentor a growing engineering team in an agile, high-velocity environment focused on solving hard problems in defense modernization and commercial autonomy. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in avionics design, electrical systems integration, PCB layout, and flight-critical hardware development. You will work alongside innovators, operators, and industry leaders at the intersection of aerospace defense and autonomous systems.
