Faire is a technology wholesale platform connecting independent retailers globally with products and suppliers. The AV Operations team owns the technology infrastructure for meetings, presentations, and events across Faire's offices. As an AV Engineer, you will own day-to-day operations for standard conference rooms and workplace media systems. This is a hands-on role with clear ownership of AV infrastructure, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and content management. You will be based primarily onsite in the San Francisco office, with occasional remote support for other offices and travel as needed. Key responsibilities include: - Preventative maintenance across conference rooms, phone booths, displays, video bars, controllers, and cabling - Daily room sweeps in SF and triaging findings from other offices into same-day fixes, scheduled remediation, or strategic projects - Hands-on ticket response for AV issues in standard rooms, diagnosing and repairing hardware, cabling, mounts, controllers, and provisioning problems - Remote troubleshooting via Zoom Admin Portal and Logitech Sync for restarts, re-provisioning, and room settings - Managing device updates for schedulers, iPads, Mac Mini codecs, and Logitech CollabOS devices within IT Security timelines - Display inspection for burn-in and image retention, enforcing background rotation standards - Owning digital signage content pipeline across offices, from intake through publishing and expiration - Day-to-day administration of office background music, including account approval, endpoint troubleshooting, and zone management - Maintaining common-area displays and shared AV in lounges, cafés, and open spaces with documented spares inventory - Keeping room records, as-built notes, SOPs, and runbooks current; writing repeatable procedures for IT Ops - Training end users in complex rooms and event spaces on source selection, Zoom Rooms controllers, wireless mics, and podium inputs - Surfacing patterns from daily sweeps to inform lifecycle and refresh planning - Supporting live events from setup through day-of execution, including sound checks and mic handling - Partnering with senior AV engineers on DSP, Q-SYS, Dante, RF, and complex-room work You measure success by whether people can walk into a room and get started without thinking about technology. You prefer turning recurring failures into runbooks and standards rather than fixing them repeatedly. You want to be the go-to person for AV support, known for excellent service. Requirements: - 2 to 4 years supporting AV, IT, or workplace technology - Hands-on experience with video conferencing room systems; Zoom Rooms strongly preferred, along with Logitech (Rally family, Tap, Sync) or equivalent - Comfort with displays, mounts, cabling, and HDMI and USB signal flow, backed by real troubleshooting methodology - Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including IP, VLANs, PoE, and DHCP, and how AV devices depend on them - Ticket-driven support experience with clear written documentation habits - Service orientation that holds up under pressure in visible, high-stakes environments - Physical ability to work on ladders, lift equipment, and access ceilings and racks Desirable qualifications: - Digital signage platform experience - Familiarity with commercial audio, including passive speaker systems, amplifiers, and DSP concepts at operational level - Exposure to Q-SYS, Shure, or Dante environments - MDM familiarity for Apple devices - Live event or production support background
