Glydways is building a next-generation autonomous transit system—carbon-neutral, interconnected pathways powered by standardized autonomous vehicles on dedicated roadways. The company is reimagining public transportation to be more accessible, affordable, and sustainable.
As an Autonomy Software Engineer on the Integration team, you'll be responsible for the high-level design and implementation of the overall autonomy system, both online (vehicle-side) and offline (simulation and analysis). The Autonomy Integration group is composed of C++ experts who work across the entire autonomy stack.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop interfaces between autonomy software components, hardware modules, and track infrastructure systems
- Design, implement, and maintain simulation capabilities and performance metrics
- Maintain core onboard functionality around fault handling, vehicle communication, and top-level system pipelines
- Collaborate with the onboard integration team to connect hardware to the autonomy stack
- Debug and fix issues across the full stack, both onboard and offline
- Write safety-rated requirements and code for the vehicle safety system
- Develop tooling to improve logged data processing, including visualization tools
- Conduct and support on-track testing of Glydways vehicles
- Participate in design reviews, planning sessions, and code reviews
You'll interface with multiple teams across the organization, including hardware and systems groups, and contribute to a mission-critical safety system.
Required qualifications:
- BS/MS in software engineering, computer science, robotics, or related field
- Strong modern C++ experience (C++17 standard library, OOP design, design patterns, build systems, unit testing)
- Experience designing and developing autonomous systems (simulation, communications, coordination, visualization)
- Linux development and debugging experience
- Ability to quickly learn new skills and technologies
