Salary: USD 180,000 - 230,000 / annual

The company operates 24/7 with on-demand access, offering personalized and efficient mobility without heavy upfront infrastructure costs. You will join as an Automotive Thermal and HVAC Control Engineer, focusing on the thermal management and cabin climate systems that keep passengers comfortable and vehicles operating efficiently. Your core responsibilities include analyzing system requirements for automotive thermal management and HVAC systems, designing and developing control algorithms for thermal systems and cabin climate control, and collaborating with software developers to translate algorithms into functional code. You will validate and test control algorithms using simulation tools, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and real-world testing environments. You'll conduct thermal architecture analysis using 1D modeling techniques (Dymola preferred) and provide feedback for thermal system architecture optimization. Additional responsibilities include optimizing system performance for energy efficiency, reliability, and occupant comfort; conducting root-cause analysis on thermal system performance issues; and documenting technical specifications, test plans, and results. This role is critical in ensuring optimal vehicle thermal management as Glydways scales its autonomous transit network. You'll work cross-functionally with software developers, systems engineers, and other teams to deliver a world-class thermal management solution. **Requirements:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field - Experience with control system development tools such as Dymola, MATLAB/Simulink, or Python - Knowledge of automotive HVAC systems, thermal management components (compressors, heat exchangers), and sensors - Experience developing thermal control systems using PID or other feedback control methods - Experience with thermal power modeling, including simulating and predicting energy usage in different operating conditions - Familiarity with CAN bus communication protocols and embedded systems - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment - Preferred: Experience with electrified vehicle thermal systems (battery cooling/heating) - Preferred: Hands-on experience with HIL testing or virtual calibration techniques
