Chainalysis is seeking a Deployment Strategist to join its Global Services team in Japan. This is a technical specialist role that bridges blockchain investigation, data analytics, domain expertise, and customer partnership. The Deployment Strategist owns the complete customer value lifecycle—from problem discovery and investigation through solution design, implementation, and enabling customers to autonomously operate the platform. You will work directly with customers to understand their missions and challenges, conduct investigations tailored to their specific needs, and ensure their teams can independently integrate Chainalysis into their operations. Key Responsibilities: - Lead customer projects end-to-end: discovery, investigation, solution design, deployment, adoption support, and ongoing value delivery - Conduct blockchain investigations using Chainalysis tools (Reactor, KYT, Data Solutions) to address real customer challenges through transaction tracing, open-source research, and analytical methods - Partner directly with customers to understand investigation, intelligence, compliance, and operational objectives and translate them into concrete outcomes - Design, build, and maintain customer-specific workflows, analytical notebooks, dashboards, search queries, and data models using Chainalysis data and products - Enable customer teams to autonomously operate solutions through knowledge transfer and skills development, embedding Chainalysis into their operational foundation - Serve as a trusted technical and domain advisor, building long-term relationships through practical expertise and credibility - Conduct live training, demonstrations, investigation walkthroughs, and technical briefings for both technical and non-technical audiences - Provide presales technical support on complex, strategic deals, explaining what Chainalysis can achieve and how - Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Global Intelligence, and Sales teams, feeding field insights into product development and service improvements - Continuously develop and share domain expertise, investigation methodologies, and best practices to elevate team capabilities Required Experience & Background: - Hands-on experience conducting cryptocurrency investigations, blockchain intelligence, or financial crime analysis in a professional setting, or direct support of such work - Deep knowledge of blockchain ecosystems (Bitcoin, Ethereum, stablecoins, DeFi) and understanding of how blockchain data is used in investigations, compliance, and intelligence operations - Experience delivering technical solutions to customers in complex operational environments (investigation results, data products, analytical workflows) - Direct customer-facing experience in law enforcement, national security, intelligence, compliance, financial crime, or security domains - Demonstrated ability to extract insights from large or complex datasets and communicate results to diverse audiences from analysts to executives - Ability to work proactively and make sound judgments in ambiguous, fast-paced environments Required Technical Skills: - Hands-on professional experience with Python and SQL for data analysis, transformation, and solution development - Experience building analytical notebooks, dashboards, and analytical workflows - Strong knowledge of data modeling, data search, and handling large-scale datasets - Ability to rapidly develop deep expertise in Chainalysis data structures, schemas, and products Required Domain Expertise: Demonstrated deep knowledge in at least one of the following areas: - Financial crime or cybercrime investigation - Sanctions and compliance - Fraud and financial crime prevention - National security - Decentralized finance and protocol security - Tax - Enterprise risk management Must understand how customers operate within their domain, their workflows, regulatory environment, and what success looks like for them. Must be able to apply domain expertise to investigation approaches, solution design, and customer advisory. Required Customer-Facing & Communication Skills: - Ability to build long-term trust with customers through technical and domain expertise - Strong communication skills to explain complex investigation results and data concepts to non-technical stakeholders - Ability to proactively lead customer sessions, workshops, training, and technical working groups - Experience supporting customer team capability development and skill-building, not just delivering deliverables Welcome Experience: - Direct experience using Chainalysis products - Investigation experience in law enforcement, intelligence, military, or defense - Expert witness testimony or legal proceeding support experience - Knowledge of compliance frameworks (Bank Secrecy Act/AML, sanctions screening, crypto market regulations, Travel Rule) - Experience with data engineering tools and platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, cloud-based analytics) - Published research, intelligence products, or thought leadership in blockchain analysis or financial crime
