Chainalysis is seeking a Solutions Architect for Financial Services to serve as a trusted technical advisor to banking and financial institution clients. This role goes beyond traditional solutions engineering to lead end-to-end customer projects—from discovery and investigation through solution design, integration, deployment, and long-term adoption support.
You will partner directly with banks and financial institutions to understand their business objectives, risk requirements, investigation and intelligence needs, and compliance challenges. You will design and build optimized workflows that enable organizations to independently leverage Chainalysis for financial crime prevention, AML, fraud detection, sanctions compliance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end customer projects with financial institutions, managing discovery, investigation, solution design, implementation, and ongoing value delivery.
- Work directly with banks to understand investigation, intelligence, compliance, fraud, AML, and operational objectives, translating them into concrete outcomes.
- Design, build, and maintain customer-specific workflows, notebooks, dashboards, queries, and data models using Chainalysis data and products.
- Build internal customer capabilities to enable autonomous operation of solutions and embed Chainalysis into their operational foundation.
- Serve as primary technical and domain advisor, building long-term trust relationships through practical expertise and reliability.
- Deliver live training, demonstrations, investigation walkthroughs, and technical briefings to diverse audiences (technical and non-technical).
- Provide presales technical support on complex, strategic financial services deals, helping customers understand what Chainalysis can achieve and how.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Global Intelligence, and Sales teams to contribute customer and market insights to product roadmaps and service improvements.
- Continuously develop and share expertise in financial services, investigation methodologies, and best practices to elevate team capabilities.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Direct working experience with banks, financial institutions, or other financial services companies.
- Business-level fluency in Japanese (reading, writing, and conversation).
- Hands-on experience in cryptocurrency investigation, blockchain intelligence, financial crime analysis, AML, compliance, fraud prevention, or directly supporting these functions.
- Deep understanding of financial crime prevention, compliance, risk management, investigation, and digital asset exposure management in banking and financial institutions.
- Deep knowledge of blockchain ecosystems (BTC, ETH, stablecoins, DeFi) and ability to apply on-chain data to financial crime prevention, compliance, risk management, and investigation.
- Experience delivering customer-facing technical solutions (investigation results, data products, analysis workflows) in complex operational environments.
- Demonstrated ability to extract insights from large or complex datasets and communicate results to diverse audiences from analysts to senior financial institution executives.
- Ability to work with speed and initiative in ambiguous environments, demonstrating flexibility and sound judgment.
Required Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Python and SQL for data analysis, data transformation, and solution development.
- Experience building notebooks, dashboards, and analysis workflows.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, querying, and handling large datasets.
- Ability to rapidly develop deep expertise in Chainalysis data structures, schemas, and products.
Required Domain Knowledge:
- Banking or financial institution experience is mandatory.
- Experience in one or more of: AML, financial crime investigation, fraud prevention, sanctions/compliance, risk management, cybercrime, or digital asset compliance.
