Salary: USD 117,000 - 161,000 / annual
Cloudflare is seeking an Associate in Strategic Finance & Investor Relations to join its lean IR team and support engagement with Wall Street and the public markets. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role where your work will go directly to the CFO, CEO, Board, and public markets. You will be a core contributor to the quarterly earnings cycle, consensus and financial modeling work, investor events including the annual Investor Day, and strategic finance projects for senior leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
**Quarterly Earnings and Consensus:** Support the end-to-end quarterly earnings process by helping draft and assemble press releases, supplemental financial information, prepared remarks, Q&A prep, and investor decks. Build and maintain the consensus model by collecting and analyzing sell-side estimates and benchmarking them against internal forecasts. Support the guidance process, including share count forecasting and sensitivity analyses. Drive tie-out and validation work to ensure accuracy and consistency across all earnings materials. Help prepare for earnings Q&A with anticipated questions, peer transcript research, and key stats. Coordinate the post-earnings analyst callback program.
**Investor Engagement:** Support day-to-day engagement with sell-side analysts and institutional investors, including responding to inbound requests and maintaining the investor database. Help plan and run investor events such as sell-side conferences, one-on-ones, on-site visits, and non-deal roadshows. Prepare briefing materials for executives ahead of investor meetings. Maintain core IR collateral including investor presentations, fact sheets, and website content. Analyze shareholder ownership and support investor targeting.
**Investor Day and Strategic Finance:** Support planning and execution of the annual Investor Day. Contribute to strategic finance projects such as peer benchmarking, competitive analyses, long-range financial modeling, and ad-hoc analyses for senior leadership.
**Analytics and Tooling:** Monitor and synthesize analyst coverage, peer results, investor sentiment, and industry trends into actionable summaries. Build and maintain models, dashboards, trackers, and validation tools. Use AI-native tooling and automation to improve speed, accuracy, and insight.
The role requires close collaboration with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, FP&A, and the executive team. You will gain broad exposure to the business and public markets. Cloudflare operates with an AI-native approach and expects you to treat modern tooling as a force multiplier.
**Requirements:**
- 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, equity research, investor relations, FP&A, corporate finance, or equity investing; exposure to public technology companies is a plus
- Strong financial modeling skills, including building and maintaining operating models, consensus models, and share count and dilution forecasts
- Solid understanding of financial statements, public-company reporting, and valuation; familiarity with SaaS or consumption-based revenue models is a plus
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, concise materials for senior executives and translate complex financial or technical concepts into simple narratives
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in getting every number right
- Ownership mindset: organized, takes initiative, and can manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, especially during earnings season
- High-trust collaboration with the ability to work effectively across Finance, Accounting, Legal, and Communications teams
- AI-native curiosity and skill: fluency with modern AI tooling and a track record of using it to amplify impact
- Sound judgment with confidential information, including awareness of materiality, fair disclosure, and Reg FD (or strong willingness to learn)
- Genuine interest in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, or AI, and in the public markets
