As an Associate in Securities Lending Operations, you'll be part of the Operations team that manages billions of dollars and ensures Wealthsimple functions at scale. The Securities Lending Operations team works directly with the Trading Desk to manage daily lending activity, settlement, and counterparty relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Execute daily securities lending processes in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Team Lead, Trading Desk, and other Operations Associates
- Process returns from counterparties and support the loan recall process
- Ensure timely loan and return settlement, and resolve related issues
- Communicate with counterparties via email and calls to execute loans, recalls, and resolve discrepancies
- Identify and resolve transaction discrepancies
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of records and assist with audit requests
- Support front-office operations related to corporate actions and market movements
- Support billing and month-end processes
- Represent Wealthsimple in external counterparty interactions and cultivate industry relationships
- Support development of operational procedures for the Options business
- Assist treasury team with cash movements and billing
- Support onboarding of new counterparties
Required qualifications: 3+ years of experience at a broker-dealer, bank, capital markets firm, or pension fund. Background in finance, accounting, business, or related technical field with strong business judgment and ability to operate under tight deadlines. Strong technical skills in Excel and Google Sheets, including formulas and pivot tables.
