Salary: USD 60,000 - 70,000 / annual
Vestwell is a financial technology platform powering the savings economy, serving over 350,000 businesses and 2M active savers with $50B in assets across retirement, education, and healthcare savings. The company works with financial advisers, employers, third-party administrators, financial institutions, payroll providers, and government agencies.
You will join the Retirement Plan Services Team as an Associate, supporting employer plan administration inquiries, change orders, and cross-functional initiatives. Working closely with internal Retirement Plan Administration subject matter experts, you'll research, assess, and deliver timely support to employer requests. You'll help startup and conversion plan employers navigate the complexities of 401(k) plan administration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting clients with complex plan issues such as eligibility, vesting, amendments, mergers & acquisitions, deconversions, year-end testing, and audits
- Gathering and analyzing information to articulate client requests through detailed scoping
- Collaborating with internal plan design and plan document experts to research and complete client plan design requests
- Creating processes, playbooks, and resources to streamline operations and support team expansion
- Documenting client account updates in internal tooling
- Conducting post mortems and identifying process improvement opportunities
- Managing client and advisor escalations and coordinating cross-functional resolutions
- Adhering to client-facing and internal service level requirements
- Monitoring contact resolution quality and meeting company responsiveness goals
- Providing consulting services to sponsors and advisors
- Ensuring client retention and conducting timely follow-up
You'll be based in one of four offices (New York, Austin, King of Prussia, or Scottsdale) in a hybrid work model.
Requirements:
- College degree and/or equivalent customer service experience
- 1-3 years of retirement industry experience (preferred)
- Flexible, creative, team-oriented, and results-driven mindset with strong stakeholder collaboration skills
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organization skills
- Proven ability to think analytically and operate independently within deadlines
- Professional experience using and optimizing internal technical operational tools (Jira, Zendesk, Asana, Google Workspace) and helping others develop best practices
- Team mentality with ability to multitask and handle high-volume incoming inquiries
- Nice to have: retirement certifications (e.g., QKA)
