In this Associate Product Manager role focused on Product Discovery & Strategy, you will own the critical function of evaluating and validating product ideas before they reach engineering. Rather than generating ideas, your core responsibility is determining which concepts deserve investment through rigorous customer research, market analysis, and strategic recommendation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking rough product concepts and designing rapid, honest tests to validate whether real customer need exists
- Conducting customer and prospect interviews to separate stated feedback from actionable insights
- Sizing market opportunities by calculating TAM/SAM, pricing models, and unit economics while clearly documenting underlying assumptions
- Writing recommendation memos that make a clear case to leadership: build, don't build, or build a narrower version—and owning that decision
- Converting validated concepts into detailed PRDs that specify scope, first-version features, and intentional exclusions
- Collaborating with engineering leads early in the process so technical feasibility shapes the specification, not the reverse
You will have direct access to CXOs daily, real ownership over investment decisions, and a short feedback loop between your analysis and what actually gets built. Killing an idea well is valued as highly as championing one.
Simplr operates on a Hub-Hybrid-Remote model; this role is hybrid, requiring regular in-office collaboration in Bengaluru or Gurugram alongside remote work flexibility.
Requirements:
- MBA from IIM A, B, C, L, I, or K (or equivalent)
- Exceptional structured writing ability; your memos are the core deliverable of this role
- Strong quantitative skills: financial modeling in Excel/Sheets, basic SQL, and product analytics
- Ability to conduct substantive conversations with senior global executives in developed markets and with frustrated customers without a script
- Active use of AI tools in your daily work (not just theoretical awareness)
