Salary: USD 90,000 - 140,000 / annual

Tempus is seeking an Associate Key Account Director to join its Life Sciences team, focusing on building and expanding relationships with leading biopharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations. The role sits at the intersection of precision medicine, AI-driven analytics, and clinical care innovation. You will be responsible for identifying high-potential contacts at biopharma companies, conducting executive outreach to open partnership discussions, and understanding customer needs to communicate Tempus's value proposition across its data, AI, sequencing, and clinical trials platform. Working cross-functionally with Key Account Directors, scientific teams, and business operations, you'll develop global account strategies and contribute to revenue goals while supporting strategic objectives for assigned clients. Key responsibilities include supporting contract negotiation and management, aligning cross-functional teams (Product Specialists, Alliance Managers, Translational Researchers, Commercial Operations) to deliver client value, and providing feedback to leadership on client responses to inform portfolio development. The role requires approximately 20% travel, both domestic and international. You'll thrive in a high-growth, rapidly evolving environment with an entrepreneurial sales mindset. The ideal candidate bridges ideas to implementable solutions, influences without formal authority, and demonstrates learning agility in a fast-changing landscape. You should be an effective collaborator across internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to set aggressive yet realistic strategies and tactics. Minimum qualifications: 5+ years in business development or sales within the life sciences sector (pharma/biotech); preferably 2+ years with companies servicing life sciences in R&D, real-world data, or molecular diagnostics. You'll need a proven track record of establishing close customer relationships, understanding of real-world data and molecular diagnostics, and knowledge of the drug development process. Bachelor's or advanced degree in science or business discipline required.
