Salary: USD 270,000 - 410,000 / annual

Norm AI's technology is deployed across many of the largest and most consequential institutions globally, with clients representing a combined $30 trillion in assets under management.
As an Associate in the Investment Companies Practice, you will advise on formation, registration, compliance, and governance of registered investment companies, investment advisers, and independent directors. You will work closely with private fund formation, tax, and registered funds teams, with exclusive access to sophisticated, bespoke AI agents developed by Norm AI's software and legal engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Regulatory Filings & Disclosure: Leverage AI agents to generate, compare, and redline Form ADV registrations and other regulatory filings.
- Marketing Rule Review: Use AI tools to review marketing materials, pitch decks, and performance presentations against the Marketing Rule; advise on track record and portability questions.
- Formation & Transaction Support: Partner with private fund formation and tax teams on live fund launches; advise on regulatory implications of adviser M&A, spin-outs, and similar transactions.
- SEC Examinations & Inquiries: Represent advisers through SEC examinations and document requests, using AI tools to efficiently process large productions on valuation, conflicts, fees, expenses, and marketing.
- Client Advisory: Partner with clients to demonstrate how AI-assisted workflows improve accuracy, transparency, and turnaround time.
- Collaboration with Tech: Work closely with technology teams to continue optimizing regulatory workflows using AI.
The role is full-time and hybrid, with an in-office expectation of 4–5 days per week in New York City. REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent; admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 4 to 6 years of investment funds regulatory experience.
- Hands-on experience with Marketing Rule reviews and SEC examinations; ability to discuss both in detail.
- Strong drafting and communication skills; meticulous attention to detail.
- Interest in applying technology to enhance traditional deal workflows.
- No prior AI or technical experience required.
