Kraken, a leading cryptocurrency exchange founded in 2011 and trusted by over 10 million users globally, is seeking an Associate in Corporate Development to support its M&A and growth initiatives. The Corporate Development team is central to Kraken's expansion strategy, pursuing acquisitions, strategic investments, and new competitive advantages across multiple dimensions. In this role, you will be instrumental in executing the company's M&A pipeline and venture portfolio activities. Key responsibilities include leading due diligence on live transactions, organizing data rooms, scheduling diligence sessions, and drafting consolidated reports. You'll build financial models including trading comparables, precedent transactions, DCF analyses, and accretion/dilution support. You'll produce screening memos and company teardowns on inbound opportunities, helping the team evaluate potential targets. You'll also manage Kraken's venture investment portfolio, maintaining deal-term inventories (ownership, instruments, pro-rata rights, board seats), collecting quarterly KPI updates from portfolio companies, and tracking valuation marks with IRR and MOIC metrics. Supporting the M&A cash obligations backbone is another key function—you'll forecast deal-related cash outflows for FP&A and Treasury teams. Additionally, you'll prepare executive materials, board presentations, and supporting analyses. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field, plus 4+ years of experience at a leading investment bank, venture capital firm, private equity firm, management consultancy, or startup. You should excel at understanding and scrutinizing business models, possess strong financial modeling and valuation skills, and demonstrate excellent problem-solving and writing abilities. Advanced Excel proficiency and data analysis tool experience are essential. You'll work self-directed across multiple high-priority transactions in parallel. Nice-to-have qualifications include SQL proficiency, a strong network in crypto or traditional financial markets, and technical background or knowledge of industry software products.
